It's that time again Stanley Bloggett.

Yep thats right it's EMMies time again. Now last month I swore that I would do them all spread out over the month. I lied. I am quickly finishing them all off. I have one more to go and two days left. Normally not a problem but tommorrow is my last day to get the house ready for house guests on the weekend. And on Sunday we are having a lot of people come over for a BBQ. So I am feeling a little stressed about it all.

This is my Book of me Challenge for the month, we had to do a layout about our school days. I found this photo of me in Year 12 and also in Kindy and thought that covered my school days quite nicely. I love my fringe in the Year 12 photo. At the time, every single trendy girl had her hair that way. I look back now and laugh and laugh. Trends huh.

This was our challenge pack for July. I picked a photo of myself. Now I might seem conceited to be only scrapping myself but my mum just gave me a whole heap of my baby and childhood photos tha aren't in albums and I want to get them done and put away. I love this photo of me. It was taken just before my 17th birthday. Mum was pregnant with Alison and it was my last portrait of me as an only child. I used my new stamps on this layout and I must say I love those stamps, they are so cool. I want more more more.

This challenge was to take some flowers and make them a feature on the page. I chose this gorgeous photo of Hamish. The scanning is so bad on this, the layout is actually really quite pretty in real life. I am happy with this layout.

Well thats it for this week. If you are reading these please leave me a little love.

The Cell Phone vs. The Bible

Wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we spent an hour or more using it every day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

This is something to make you go....@Hmmm....where is my Bible?@
Oh, and a few more things -- Unlike our cell phones:

    The Plan fits all.

    Unlimited usage.

    No roaming charges.

    No weak signals

We don't ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because

    Jesus already paid the bill!

    Just something to think about!

"HELP ME, LORD, TO SEE YOUR BEAUTY ALL AROUND ME. MAY MY GRATITUDE SPILL OVER FROM A CUP FULL OF THANKS TO YOU."

Photos from yesteryear.

These are photos of my grandmother and grandfather on my mums side. Photos of mum as a girl by herself and with her brothers. There is also a few photos of my parents wedding day with both of my great grandmothers next to them. Enjoy.

Bridal Showers, babies and ..........

Today we did a bridal shower for Miss Stibbs - Hamish's teacher. It was so much fun. We had a mock wedding for the class. We made Miss Stibbs a wedding dress out of newspaper and then dressed all the kids up in the different parts. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, father of the bride, minister, photographer, videographer, groom and band. The kids were so cute dressed up in all their dress up clothes. One of the mums made all the girls and Miss Stibbs a yellow veil - her favourite color and all the boys had black bow ties. Too too too cute. The groomsmen wore suits and even Caitlin and Holly who are three dressed up as flower/ring girls and came down the aisle and presented the rings. There were bubbles blown, vows promised. I promise to cook all your favourite food, wash your clothes, give you all my money and be your best friend. Jesse the groom, was a little worried about the legality of the wedding but we reassured him that it was only pretend. He was worried about how many kids they were going to have. LOL. Too too much fun. We all gave her heaps and heaps of stuff for her pantry and a gift voucher to buy something for herself and Joel. I will post photos when I get them. I of course forgot to take my camera. Would have forgotten my head if I could have I am sure. We were so late for school this morning. I am running around late and panicking and Bay says Mum I need dress up clothes for my play today. I was like, sorry kid you are on your own, my brain will explode if I have to do one more thing. Mean mummy hey?

Here are some really cute photos of Cate and Charlis friends Beau and Baby Indy or Dindy as Charli prefers to call her. They were having a little rock concert and we couldn't resist taking some photos and then we got inspired to take some photos of Indy surrounded by teddies. Well of course the others couldn't miss out. I love these photos. They are such good friends......well most of the time. LOL.

And these are some of my favourite photos. I love Em and Indy looking so happy and enjoying their little smooch session. Please note: Em finds these photos most unappealing and would not appreciate me posting them here. OH WELL!!

And Indys little smile in this photo is just cuteness personified. I don't know what it is about Indy but I really really like her. I am not really a baby person - well other peoples babies that is. But if I see Indy and don't get a cuddle I truly feel deprived. I haven't felt like that about another baby that wasn't mine except for my brothers and sisters. Maybe it's because I know that I won't be having little babies like that anymore. Who knows?Who cares?
Well thats if for another boring post from me.
Love ya. Don't forget to leave a commment to make me feel LOVED.

Biker Chick

These photos were taken yesterday of my camera shy Caitlin. She has discovered the joy of riding her bike down a hill and wanted me to capture it forever. She is so cute. I even got a photo of her stacking it. I love the way her clothes and bike color coordinate, she is such a fashion guru. (oh that was a fluke by the way LOL.)

On the rain front it had stopped but it has started again. The rain woke me last night on our tin roof. It was so loud for a split second I felt nervous and prayed that it wouldn't all come down on me. LOL

Well this was a boring post but I wanted to touch base with you all. I am off on one of those shopping tours tomorrow. You know the 12 hour day. I have not one single red cent to spend, but it will still be nice to go out with friends and have a break from the kiddies.

It's raining its pouring

It is bucketing down in Sydney today which is great but we are slowly flooding. This picture was taken at 3 PM today. Look how dark it is.

And that is our back porch which is slowly filling with water. Look a peg even floated down there is that much water. LOL. I hope some of this is going into the catchment area.

The kids have been busting to get into the backyard all day. Cate keeps promising that she will wear her raincoat and umbrella all day. Ha ha I think not. Can you imagine her in the backyard? Charli too.

Here is my sick boy. He has been home for three days now. Bad asthma. Poor kid. Terrible headache. Sore tummy from trying to breathe.

Here she is rugged up and ready to go just waiting for the word. LOL.

I tried to get a better photo of Charli but she kept moving so frustrating. Well thats my news for the day.

Hope some of this wet falls in the catchment area and fills the farmers up with lots of water too.

The fern and the bamboo

THE FERN AND THE BAMBOO
One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality....
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me.
"Look around", He said.
"Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light. I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
The same in year four.
"Then in the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern, it was seemingly small and insignificant.
But just six months later, the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots.
Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.
"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling,
you have actually been growing roots?
I would not quit on the bamboo.. I will never quit on you.
"Don't compare yourself to others." He said.
"The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.
"Your time will come", God said to me.
"You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?" I asked. "How high will the bamboo rise?"
He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned "Yes." He said,
"Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest, realizing that God will never give up on me.
And He will never give up on you.
Never regret a day in your life.
Good days give you happiness;
bad days give you experiences;
both are essential to life.

Above is this months Emmies. Man I did them all yesterday. Talk about leaving it to the last minute. I am not thrilled with all of them. I was too rushed. But I do like this one. Sorry about the quality of the picture, they are just photos taken of the layout. The one above is the Challenge pack. We were given the papers and stuff and that is all you are able to use. I scraplifted the idea. I wish mine turned out as good as the real one LOL.
This one was the sketch challenge. And this is the one I like the least. Also the one I did last and I felt so rushed and dissatisfied with. I love the photos of Cate though. Too too cute.

This one was the Designer Challenge and was all about freestyling. Which I am hopeless at but seem to really really enjoy. I am loving this competition it is exposing me to new things all the time.
This last one was for the Book of me and the theme was write about a song that sums up your life. I couldn't think of just one song so found some pictures of Josh and I in Singapore doing Karaoke. Just an aside - how slamming are my legs in these photos. Oh to be young again. No make up, no fancy clothes and still look fantastic. Ahh the good old days. LOL.
