Well first week of the school holidays is over. Woohoo. We have had a fairly quiet one. I am hoping to take the boys to the movies next week to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Can hardly wait. LOL.
We are just the social butterflies over the next little while. Steve and Stephs wedding tomorrow. A BBQ after church on Sunday to meet the new minister and his wife informally. On Monday night we are going out to dinner with some friends. Which will be nice, I love going out for dinner. Anything I don't make is a bonus.
I am hoping to have a day next week where the boys can invite some of their friends over. We will make mini pizzas, and watch a DVD that they choose. I think there will be about 8 boys here. But I think it is good to get it all over with in one visit, rather than having a different boy each week. Thats the theory anyway.
We have a double baby dedication the following Sunday for sweet little Micah Jack and Eli. Followed by another BBQ.
I am really getting into the scrapbooking now. I love Digital because I can just do it without any mess but I really enjoy paper scrapping too. It takes more effort with the kids and I have to choose my times, thats why I do more digital than the other. One day that will change. I have to finish off some recipe cards for a swap at EMM. I am only about 4 months behind. I am such a slack *****. I got some from the first swap the other day and man the women at EMM are SO talented. They were just recipe cards but they were the most beautiful things.
I haven't even started my EMMies, the competition at EMM this month yet. I have gotten intimidated. I am so out of the league of the other women. I love to scrap and I love the fact that my family is getting a physical heritage to look at, that is what I have to remember. Plus I love all the challenges, they are growing my skills thats for sure.
This month we have to do a layout on my siblings. A layering LO with hidden journalling. The challenge pack which is so gorgeous this month and then the sketch challenge which is full of flowers, the women have been doing lots of hand cutting.
Plus my friend Shazz at EMM has asked us to do a 6 x 6 Layout with an inspiring quote on it, to encourage a dear women in her town who is struggling with cancer. I think this is a great idea. I am just scared that I am going to overload. But I think I really want to do this.
I have also received three class packs from Scrap of Faith a christian scrapping community. They do classes each month that focus on our walk with God. This months is on Surrender and it has really gotten me thinking about Surrender. That is a pretty big thing if you really sit down and think about it.
So I have
*16 recipe cards
* 4 layouts for EMMies
*3 classes at Scrap of Faith - which I guess don't have to be done urgently but are beautiful.
*1 class at EMM by Sara which is just so cute
*1 big C to decorate for a little girl in Hamishs class whose having a party. She can hang it on her door
*I want to buy a Big Wooden "M" and "E" to decorate for the little boys dedication
* And I really want to do Shazz's inspirational layout.
So thats my list of to do - for scrapping. I have also moved into a new house and need to start getting that organised. We got all the toys out the other day and set them all up. The kids were so pleased. We got the big wooden stove that Grandpa made for Bailey and set it up in the boys room with all the toy cooking stuff. The girls have been in raptures over it, although yesterday I went in and Cate had climbed up in the kitchen and grabbed all my herbs, taken them to the stove and poured them all into her saucepans. Her excuse? I am sick of pretend cooking, I wanted to do the real thing! Puh-lease give me patience Lord. LOL.
Wow this turned out to be a really long post. But it is always good to catch up with friends. Leave a comment if you stop by so I know you have been around.
Love ya.
