Anzac Day

Well today was Anzac Day and we had a lovely quiet day at home. The kids played about and I tried to upload my layouts onto EMM for the Emmies. Talk about frustration. I just could not do it. I wonder if they will work here.

This first one was the April Sketch Challenge and I must admit it left me a bit stumped at first. But now that it is finished I am really happy with it. Love the photo of Cate in the pool too.

This next one was the April Challenge Pack. You are only to use what is in the pack. Now I am not thrilled with this layout, I love the photo of beautiful Cate as a baby but the layout leaves me a bit dry. I just needed to get them done.
This next one was for the Book of me part of the comp. We had to write about our siblings and how they affected us. This is my effort. Again it is pretty basic. I actually scraplifted the idea. The one I copied from was much much better. LOL. Duh.
This last one was a layering challenge. Which I really enjoyed but surprisingly was hard to sort out. I really like the way this one turned out. I have hidden journaling under the photo. Tricky hey? LOL Not really. That was part of the competition detail.

I hope you like em. Leave a comment after the beep. Ooops sorry that is an answering machine isn't it? Not a blog.

I have been tagged.

I have been tagged by the lovely Sara.

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

Fact one. I am 5 foot, ten inches tall.
Fact two. I love reality television.
Fact three. I can't do cartwheels or forward rolls, never have been able to.
Fact four. I am addicted to Coke Zero.
Fact five. One of my goals is to learn to sew and paint.
Fact six. I always wanted four kids. (guess what I got em, now I know better)
Fact seven. I was an only child until I was seventeen and a half.

Ooh that was fun. Ok I am going to tag. Steph, Alexis,Karen, Nat, ok so I don't have enough friends with blogs who haven't already been blogged. This is my entire list. Oh dear that is sad. LOL

Park Day

Yesterday we went to the park with some friends and I actually thought ahead and brought my camera to take some shots of the kids. They had so much fun. I actually love going to the park too. I lock the gate so that they can't escape and then sit on a bench and read and read. Thats the bonus of having so many kids they all play together and help each other. Loving it.
This is Mr Mooey he is such a reflective little boy, he had a great time on the swing, He has just learnt how to swing himself and finds this SOOOO exciting. He still prefers to be pushed though, I think it is the phlegmatic in him. LOL
Here's Bay, I truly did try to get more photos of him but this child does not keep still enough to take any. I got about 20 blurry ones of him jumping and diving and leaping and running.
Do you love the outfit? Shoes on the wrong feet that weren't allowed to be changed. She had about 12 layers on here. She is prepared for all weather conditions. She so loved dressing herself, it seems to be important to her. Control issues I feel. She also had her handbag and mobile phone and sunnies. She is a teenager in a little girls body.
I was happily reading my book when Bay called out that Charli had climbed to the top of the slide. Now this is not a little slide, I can't reach them at the top from the ground, there she was, happy as Larry. I love this photo it just sums up their personalities. Cate - cheeky chops, Mooey in awe of life and Charli, stoic and determined.
Stopped to pose for a photo, who could blame him he is a super model in the making. According to him anyway.
Here she is, Miss Most Determined 2007. She didn't need any help doing the belt up on the swing. She sat on the swing for ages, singing to herself and rocking back and forth, SHE DOES NOT NEED HELP SWINNING THANKS. (thats not a typo by the way) She was really in the zone, totally relaxed and happy when Bay came behind her and gave her an almighty push, the look of terror on her face as she flew through the air. I called out to Bay, you really scared her Bay, we looked back at her and she was laughing her head off. The look was exactly the same as we would do at the top of the rollercoaster.
Here she is little Miss Relaxed. She must have sat on this wooden car on springs for a good 20 minutes just watching the others and enjoying the sun. Such a little sweetheart.
And here is big bro. Looking after her and making sure she is having in fun. He put himself in charge of rocking the car to give her the full experience. LOL.

We had fun.

Ok this is a layout I did from Steve and Stephs wedding. The flowers in the background were on the bridal table and the white overlay is actually her beautiful wedding dress. They did THE best wedding waltz I have ever seen, it reminded me of Pulp Fiction. It was a really FUN wedding. Steve gave an awesome speech and there were lots of laughs and good times. James did a really good job in the ceremony and the music was awesom. LOUD but cool. I had a lovely time. We even had time between the ceremony and reception to go and grab a coffee in Westfields and have a browse of the shops, without any kids. Woohoo.

This was her wedding cake, I thought it was lovely.

While we were at the wedding mum and Steph came and minded the kids. Mum brought them new PJ's for Easter. She got Charli Dora the explorer ones and she looks sooooo cute in them.

Cate got Tinkerbell. The best thing that she got for Cate was all these wall ornaments of Disney Princess's which Cate adores. So now her room is all decked out.Very very exciting.

Oh yeah at the picnic today I got to have a cuddle with Indi and she looks SO much better. I am relieved, I was worried about my little buddy.

Rub a dub dub

Well first week of the school holidays is over. Woohoo. We have had a fairly quiet one. I am hoping to take the boys to the movies next week to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Can hardly wait. LOL.

We are just the social butterflies over the next little while. Steve and Stephs wedding tomorrow. A BBQ after church on Sunday to meet the new minister and his wife informally. On Monday night we are going out to dinner with some friends. Which will be nice, I love going out for dinner. Anything I don't make is a bonus.

I am hoping to have a day next week where the boys can invite some of their friends over. We will make mini pizzas, and watch a DVD that they choose. I think there will be about 8 boys here. But I think it is good to get it all over with in one visit, rather than having a different boy each week. Thats the theory anyway.

We have a double baby dedication the following Sunday for sweet little Micah Jack and Eli. Followed by another BBQ.

I am really getting into the scrapbooking now. I love Digital because I can just do it without any mess but I really enjoy paper scrapping too. It takes more effort with the kids and I have to choose my times, thats why I do more digital than the other. One day that will change. I have to finish off some recipe cards for a swap at EMM. I am only about 4 months behind. I am such a slack *****. I got some from the first swap the other day and man the women at EMM are SO talented. They were just recipe cards but they were the most beautiful things.

I haven't even started my EMMies, the competition at EMM this month yet. I have gotten intimidated. I am so out of the league of the other women. I love to scrap and I love the fact that my family is getting a physical heritage to look at, that is what I have to remember. Plus I love all the challenges, they are growing my skills thats for sure.

This month we have to do a layout on my siblings. A layering LO with hidden journalling. The challenge pack which is so gorgeous this month and then the sketch challenge which is full of flowers, the women have been doing lots of hand cutting.

Plus my friend Shazz at EMM has asked us to do a 6 x 6 Layout with an inspiring quote on it, to encourage a dear women in her town who is struggling with cancer. I think this is a great idea. I am just scared that I am going to overload. But I think I really want to do this.

I have also received three class packs from Scrap of Faith a christian scrapping community. They do classes each month that focus on our walk with God. This months is on Surrender and it has really gotten me thinking about Surrender. That is a pretty big thing if you really sit down and think about it.

So I have
*16 recipe cards
* 4 layouts for EMMies
*3 classes at Scrap of Faith - which I guess don't have to be done urgently but are beautiful.
*1 class at EMM by Sara which is just so cute
*1 big C to decorate for a little girl in Hamishs class whose having a party. She can hang it on her door
*I want to buy a Big Wooden "M" and "E" to decorate for the little boys dedication
* And I really want to do Shazz's inspirational layout.

So thats my list of to do - for scrapping. I have also moved into a new house and need to start getting that organised. We got all the toys out the other day and set them all up. The kids were so pleased. We got the big wooden stove that Grandpa made for Bailey and set it up in the boys room with all the toy cooking stuff. The girls have been in raptures over it, although yesterday I went in and Cate had climbed up in the kitchen and grabbed all my herbs, taken them to the stove and poured them all into her saucepans. Her excuse? I am sick of pretend cooking, I wanted to do the real thing! Puh-lease give me patience Lord. LOL.

Wow this turned out to be a really long post. But it is always good to catch up with friends. Leave a comment if you stop by so I know you have been around.

Love ya.

A splash of color

This is a layout I did for Digital Freebies. It was a color challenge, they give you the color palette and you create the layout. It was fun because they arne't usually colors that I would chose.

Here is another one. Of Caitlin, I said that I needed to do it so that I could tell the two girls apart when I am older or I guess really when they are older. You always think you will remember but you never do.

How peaceful are you?

I obviously need to work on this. Far out this is stressing me out. LOL.

You Are 56% Peaceful

In general, you think the world's a pretty great place - and you're happy to be a part of it.
Sometimes you struggle with life, but who doesn't?
You are quite level headed, though you have more inner angst than you'd like.

Sweet Sissy

This is a layout I did of my friend Stacey from Oregons daughter and new baby son. I like the way it turned out. She is such a sweet big sister.

Chocolate addict

Charli is just an addict, I don't think she has eaten anything but choccie today. The other kids have all moved on but not her. I just found her bum sticking out of my cupboard and mouth completely full of MY Easter egg. Well I guess I didn't really need it, but I don't think she really did either.

Hoppy Easter Sunday

Well the girls have certainly had a fine time this morning, especially Charli. When Cait found the eggs this morning, Hamish said to her, Oh wow look what the Easter bunny brought, to which Cait replied, no dad brought those home yesterday in the car. Oh well you can't win them all. LOL

I have been sick for about a week now I just can't shake this cold and it has really wiped me out. Hamish and Cait had it last week, Cait was very very sick, and now today Bay has woken up feeling very weak and sick. Hopefully this will be the last of it. I haven't been to church for weeks cos one of my children are always sick. Oh well this is just a stage right?

We have had a very quiet Easter with all this sickness. Next week is Steve and Stephs wedding. James will be marrying them and being their MC. Mum and Steph are going to come and watch the kids. I am looking forward to their wedding, she is the most super organised bride in the world and very much in love with her groom. I will ask if they mind and will post some photos next week. She will be a gorgeous bride.

Just another digital layout I did.

Thought it was appropriate for the Easter Season. Hope you are all having a good one.

Good Friday

I often wonder why it was called Good Friday? I mean it wasn't good for Jesus was it? But it certainly was good for us. Because of his sacrifice and great love for us we have an opportunity to spend eternity with God in heaven. Well I know I have my ticket booked just working out the last few details, you know obedience, grace, mercy, forgiveness. Could take me awhile. Just as well he doesn't expect perfection hey? I would be stuffed for sure.

Whatever you are doing today or wherever you are (Miss Carol Ann), take a quick minute to think about why we really do celebrate Easter today and what effect this could have on your life.
Love ya have a great day.

Settling

Well I am starting to get settled in here at the new house. We have rearranged the furniture and I even vacuumed today. Woohoo. My friend Lorraine came and had a cuppa with me today and this arvo the beautiful Indi came for a visit. With her mum and Beau too. Man it was hectic and the saddest thing was the hectic ones were MY kids. Groan.

I found this photo today of Mooey and Jeremy. I was afraid that we wouldn't have any photos of Jeremy for when Moo got older but what was I afraid of? Every photo that Hamish is in has Jeremy in it too.

I could go on and on and on but I wont. Hopefully soon I will have something more interesting to share but until then.
See ya.
